Should be packing....

The count down has begun, 10 more days in CT until we hit the road for TX. I don't know if you'd call it procrastination, but nothing is packed and the process might not even start til next week. Some may call us crazy, but I'm a firm believer in packing 'late.' Early packers (I imagine) end up digging through all they've packed because they realize that they need this or that. My theory could also be a lame excuse... we'll see come Monday. I'll be on the hunt for boxes and our little apartment will torn apart and put into piles.

My other excuse for such lack of productivity is the cold I've been fighting, and some pain in my leg in which I must tend to (doctor's orders!). We also just got back from 5 days in PA for Thanksgiving fun with my family. My sister also planned a trip to NYC for my mom, herself, and I. We went out to the statue of Liberty and Ellis Island... it was a long wait in the cold, but worth it. We looked up our Great Grandpa, Antonio Ragnoni, who came over from Italy in the 1912. We found a picture of his ship and his name on the manifest and list of arrivals. It's mind boggling to imagine the journey and arrival in a new place, different language, owning next to nothing. I admire his courage.

On another note; the car is sold, speaking engagements continue, goodbye parties are underway, and the moving truck will be here next Saturday.... then off the TX for the holidays with Justin's family (which is growing..... expect a new niece at any minute!!)

NYC with mom and sis.... (if you've read any of my previous stories on xanga, you know that this is how I feel about NYC sometimes).

Nieces, Paige and Lisabeth.

One of my favorite family photos.
