Lily's first month
It's time for an update! One month has passed and Lily is growing and changing every day. She was born at 2lbs 2oz, and she is now 2lbs 9oz.
Lily has been feeding through an NG tube to her stomach and intestines, she has had to stop and start feedings over again three times since her birth due to reflux and episodes of apnea. Thankfully there is no infection involved, it is just due to her immaturity. We are praying that she won't have to stop again, and she will be able to continue progressing on breast milk alone with out anymore IV fluids. Besides these issues (which are pretty normal for preemies) she is doing great. She has recently started sucking on her pacifier, and she has also grown into the next size of (tiny preemie) diapers!
Every day we get to change her diaper, take her temperature, do her mouth care, read her some stories, and hold her for 'skin to skin'/ 'kangaroo care.'
She will have to weigh at least four pounds, be able to breast feed, and be stable off of her monitors before leaving the hospital.... this may take another month or two. Please continue to pray for her as she spends her days growing in the NICU, and pray for us as we must patiently wait until the day she is ready to come home with us.
Enjoy some pictures of her first month!

Keep up the great work, Lily.
