Generators, Pipes, and a Hole in the Side of a Ship

It has been such an exciting time on board the Africa Mercy the past few months! Lorah and Lily have settled into shipboard life in our cozy cabin and I hit the ground running on the generator replacement project. Since we arrived on September 4th, the existing generators, 4 750kW generators and 2 2.2MW generators have been removed (with an awful lot of piping and other equipment) and four new 1000kW generators with large vibration dampening foundations have been routed in through 6 holes cut in 4 different tanks and the side of the ship! I'm so humbled and thrilled that God has blessed me with the opportunity to serve him in an area that I enjoy working in so much and has such lasting and identifiable benefits. It's a rare exception to the shipbuilding industry to see the benefit of your work, and working on board the Africa Mercy, seeing the lame walk and the blind see, is a reward that far outweighs the sacrifices required to be here. God is so good to know our hearts and what we need to grow and to be happy. Thank you so much for supporting our work and our family through your thoughts, prayers, and finances.
