Shamefully Overdue Update!

I remember a couple of years ago, looking back on the year and thinking, "That was a busy year. I'm glad this year isn't going to be that hectic." I've said the same thing every year since then. It wasn't until five minutes ago that I came to the realization, after realizing that we hadn't updated our blog since SEPTEMBER, that I will probably be as busy, if not more so, every year for the next several years.

Kids have a funny way about doing that. We've got two now, by the way. Here she is, Evelyn Grace Ray. Born December 17th at 6.5 lbs.

And here she is more recently, weighing in around 10 lbs.

Obviously, we've been much more busy since December 17th, but I've got to say, this busy is beating the pants off of the kind of busy I was when Lorah was on bed rest!

Work is progressing well. Work on the new ship project has slowed, but for good reason. Mercy Ships is taking a step back and reevaluating the constraints and objectives for a new ship concept, which I think is a fantastically responsible decision. In supporting the Africa Mercy, we (Lorah, Lily, Evelyn, and I) will be going to the Canary Islands this summer. I'll be managing the 'project's team' and making sure that the air conditioning plant installation goes smoothly.

But before we head off to the Canaries, we'll be headed North to Maryland for a training course in Diesel Electric Propulsion at MEBA Calhoon. After that we'll take a couple of weeks to visit our Pennsylvania and Connecticut friends and family.
